EYE & SKIN SURGICAL TREATMENT

Ptosis surgery

Many patients believe they require a blepharoplasty because of hooded eyes or excess skin; however, this may be caused by muscle or tendon weakness rather than excess skin.

The most common form of ptosis surgery involves shortening the muscles or tendons that raise the eyelid. At Face Restoration, we can perform ptosis surgery in one of two ways, depending on your circumstances. The first uses a small incision in the natural fold of the eye, which masks any potential scarring. The second method is performed under the eyelid, so there is no need for an incision or visible scarring.

FEATURES, ADVANTAGES, & BENEFITS FOR OUR PATIENTS

At Face Restoration, we work with you through a comprehensive examination to determine the clinical cause of your concern and develop a bespoke treatment plan that meets your desired aesthetic goals. Thanks to our unique Scars-lessTM programme, we can provide faster healing times and reduced scarring to ensure better treatment outcomes.

At FaceRestoration, you will visit our luxurious London clinics, where you will receive a comprehensive assessment of your skin condition and overall health. As part of your treatment you will have the advantage of our Scars-less™️ programme for faster healing times and less postoperative scarring.

Your ptosis surgery will be performed by two leading ophthalmic and oculoplastic surgeons, Dr Rachna Murthy and Dr Jonothan Roos. Having two surgeons gives our patients the benefit of two opinions and two sets of skilled hands working to give you the best possible results from surgery.

Will I have visible scarring?

We understand that one of the most common concerns with facial surgery is scarring. Any incisions are made to be hidden in the natural eyelid crease or fold for coverage. We also use Scars-less™️ technology to reduce healing time and decrease the amount of visible scarring. Where possible, we perform surgery internally to eliminate scarring.

Is Ptosis Surgery permanent?

Ptosis repair results are permanent, but if the eyelid muscle weakens continuously over time, a second surgery may be necessary to correct it.

How long is the recovery period after surgery?

Most patients can resume normal activities between 10-14 days after surgery. As with all surgery, some bruising and slight swelling is to be expected during this time.
