Why Face Restoration?
FEATURES, ADVANTAGES, & BENEFITS FOR OUR PATIENTS
We use a combination of Juvederm® Volite and Profhilo® skin booster treatments to provide better, longer-lasting results than a single product alone. The use of both treatments aims to provide our patients with the unique benefits of both products simultaneously.
Both Juvederm® Volite and Profhilo® skin booster treatments have a hyaluronic acid-base. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that hydrates and lubricates cells. We produce less hyaluronic acid as we age, leading to dehydrated skin and “crepiness”. Both products are clinically proven to reduce the signs of ageing – improving the overall skin complexion for a more youthful appearance.
What is the difference between Juvederm® Volite and Profhilo®
Profhilo® is an injectable hyaluronic acid that stimulates the formation of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid in the skin. Juvederm® Volite is also an injectable hyaluronic acid that acts similarly to Profhilo®; however, it remains within the skin for 6-9 months and acts “like a sponge”, retaining moisture.
Are Skin Boosters the same as Dermal Fillers?
Skin Boosters are dermal filler micro-injections into the skin. They are not injected beneath the skin like standard dermal fillers – to volumize or sculpt the face. Instead, the consistency is designed to be injected into the deeper layers of the skin to hydrate and enhance skin quality.
Medical-grade skin care treatments are designed to reach the dermis. The dermis is where many skin cells are produced, alongside collagen cells. Active ingredients must influence the deep dermis to create any significant alterations to the skin.
What is Hyaluronic Acid?
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a humectant (a chemical that holds moisture) that can bind 1,000 times its weight in water. HA is a naturally occurring substance in numerous human body parts, including the skin, eyes, and joint fluid.
Production of hyaluronic acid (together with collagen and elastin) diminishes as we age. Our skin loses volume, moisture, and plumpness as a result. Skin boosters replace hyaluronic acid to increase moisture in the deeper layers of the skin.
