Why Face Restoration?
FEATURES, ADVANTAGES, & BENEFITS FOR OUR PATIENTS
Consultants Dr Rachna Murthy, and Dr Jonathan Roos, are leading ophthalmologists and oculoplastic surgeons who aim to see you as soon as possible to get treatment underway when it is needed most.
Our same-day urgent assessment clinic allows patients to see us as soon as possible. Where we can, we will treat you the same day or next day. If immediate treatment is not possible, we will give emergency eye care to ease any discomfort, ready for you to return for treatment.
What is a canalicular laceration or trauma?
An injury to the canaliculus causes damage to the lacrimal drainage (tear drainage) system of the eye, resulting in canaliculus trauma. Lacrimal canaliculi are located in the inner corner of the eyelid.
How do Eyelid Lacerations occur?
No matter how careful we are in our daily lives, accidents do happen! Many of us participate in dangerous sports and activities that could put our eyes at risk. A lacerated eyelid can occur even if protective eyewear is being worn.
What treatment can I expect?
Your treatment will depend on a number of factors that we will discuss as part of your assessment and consultation. Superficial damage may be repaired with sutures (stitches). Further surgery may be required if the underlying tissues such as the eye or lacrimal drainage systems.
