Why Do Both of You Operate on a Patient?

Rachna: We chose each other because I saw great skills and hopefully Jonathan saw great skills in me as well, but we want to give our patients the best experience possible. And there are two eyes, we operate on each eye together and individually as well, and it speeds up things.

Jonathan: Rachna is the best surgeon I’ve. seen operate and when you’re flying in an airplane, there’s any one pilot can fly an airplane, but you have to because you need crew resource management. Not everything is always as expected. The chance that two people overlook something, make a mistake or don’t pay attention at the right moment is very small when you’ve got two people. Every human is fallible, two people are much less likely to be fallible. And we get really good results because we discuss every case before and after. And so we’re always learning and we’re always challenging each other and what’s really fun about Face Restoration is that every time we operate we get a little bit better and we have done amazing things since we started, and we have got our recovery rate down to almost nothing.”
